Everton 2 Tottenham 2

EVERTON and Tottenham shared a four-goal feast at Goodison in bright sunshine on Merseyside.

Teen star Wayne Rooney enjoyed an encouraging debut, and it was his shrewd pass which allowed Mark Pembridge to flash home the opener after 37 minutes.

Spurs were dealt a major blow when Stephen Carr, who has only just returned to full fitness, appeared to pull a hamstring and was replaced by Ben Thatcher.

Nevertheless, the North Londoners gradually worked their way back into the game and drew level courtesy of Matthew Etherington's first Premiership goal, smashing a Jamie Redknapp pass past Richard Wright.

When Les Ferdinand made an immediate impact after coming off the bench, with Wright unable to keep out his shot on 75 minutes, it looked as though the points were heading south.

However, with only nine minutes left, Tomasz Radzinski dribbled past Dean Richards and kept his cool to slip an equaliser past Kasey Keller to make it 2-2.
