Hill-Wood still hopeful new deal will be agreed with Van Persie
Arsenal remain confident that Robin van Persie will commit his future to the club and sign a new contract.
The Footballer of the Year has just 12 months left on his current deal and has been linked with a host of clubs.
Italian outfit Juventus confirmed their interest earlier this week, but chairman Peter Hill-Wood expects that the Dutchman will remain at the Emirates.
"We haven't talked to Robin yet, but I spoke to Arsene (Wenger) recently," he told The Daily Star.
Wonderful season
"He is very confident he will stay and I very much hope he will.
"He has had a wonderful season with us.
"We have had no official approaches from any other club, as far as I am aware."
Asked if it was vital to qualify for the Champions League if they want Van Persie to stay, Hill-Wood replied: "I don't know."
