Swedish defender disappointed with opening

Olof Mellberg felt Olympiakos paid the penalty for a poor start against Arsenal following their 2-1 loss at Emirates Stadium. The Greek visitors were made to pay for two lapses in concentration at the back in the early stages in North London. Youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain opened the scoring with left-back Andre Santos doubling their advantage shortly after. Olympiakos did pull one back through David Fuster's header, although Mellberg felt they were always fighting an uphill battle.

Poor start

"I thought we had quite a poor start," Mellberg told Sky Sports. "They didn't create too many chances and they scored two with the couple that they had. "It was uphill from there, but we battled back and had a lot of chances. "Unfortunately we only managed one goal."
