Arsenal youngster replaces club team-mate

Johan Djourou has been called up to the full Switzerland squad as a replacement for Philippe Senderos. The 21-year-old defender is set to take his place in the fold after his Arsenal team-mate picked up a hamstring injury. Djourou had initially been included in the Swiss U21 squad, but will now be hoping to feature for Ottmar Hitzfeld's senior side in a friendly against Cyprus on Wednesday. With less than a month to go until the 2010 World Cup qualifiers get underway, Djourou has been handed an ideal opportunity to stake a claim for a starting role against Israel on 6th September. He has been capped by his country on 17 previous occasions and helped Arsenal keep an opening day clean sheet against West Brom on Saturday.
