Reyes set on Spain stay

Jose Antonio Reyes has reiterated his desire to remain in Spain.

Jose Antonio Reyes has reiterated his desire to remain in Spain, with the gifted forward insisting he has no desire to return to Arsenal.

The Spain international is on loan at Real Madrid from Arsenal, but his future remains unclear as he has struggled to show his best at the Bernabeu on account of injury.

Real have yet to make a decision on whether to make his move permanent, but the 23-year-old is not intending to head back to London if he is rejected by Madrid.

"I wouldn't like to go back to London," Reyes told a news conference. "If I can't stay at Real Madrid I hope I can go to another club in Spain, but I'm not intending to go back to London.

"It's not that playing for Arsenal was a disagreeable experience, but I didn't like the climate after being in Spain."

Reyes' future is tied to that of Julio Baptista as he is on loan at Arsenal from Real, but the Brazilian's situation is also up in the air.
