Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has denied that he is interested in acquiring Olivier Dacourt and Edgar Davids.
Both combative midfielders have been linked with moves to Highbury as Wenger looks to replace departed captain Patrick Vieira.
With the Frenchman claiming he may not sign a direct replacement for Juventus new boy Vieira, he has now stressed that the two players are not high on his current agenda.
"No, there is no truth in that [Dacourt] at the moment," Wenger told Arsenal's official website.
"I am happy with what we have.
"I will add what I feel is really needed. Numbers-wise, we don't need to add players but, if we find a special player we'll take him.
"Again there is no real truth behind that [Davids]. There are a lot of players on the market.
"We have a big squad and we'll look for maybe just one addition."
Dacourt is currently with Roma but has been touted for a return to The Premiership, providing the Serie A club can overturn a transfer ban.
Davids is another midfielder who is likely to move on this summer as he is poised to leave Internazionale.
