The 18-year-old has been struggling with the back injury since July and he is expected to be sidelined for another six weeks.
The highly-rated Swiss star has still to make his debut for Arsenal and the news will be a further blow to his hopes of making an impression in the first team.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger admitted he did not expect Senderos to be available for up to six weeks with the injury.
"Philippe Senderos has a back inflammation and it will take four to six weeks for it to settle down," said Wenger.
