Penneteau happy at Bastia

NICOLAS PENNETEAU wants to remain at Bastia, even though coach Gerard Gili has hinted that he will not be able to keep the talented keeper.

Birmingham City have been keeping a watchful eye on the youngster, who was previously linked with Arsenal, but the 22-year-old is happy with life in Corsica.

"Yes, teams are following me," he admitted. "But it is only contacts, there is nothing concrete.

"I know Arsenal thought about me five or six months ago.

"But did I sign there? No! So we must not get carried away.

"There are a lot of very good keepers and I am only 22 years old. I am not a star.

"When it is only rumours, I am not interested.

"However, I want to experience a very high level.

"But I feel very well in Corsica."
