Wenger warms to French keeper

ARSENAL are reportedly set to sign French goalkeeper Guillaume Warmuz until the end of the season.

The Gunners have been searching high and low to bring in a new shot-stopper to act as cover after Swede Rami Shaaban broke his leg.

Warmuz, who is a free agent after terminating his contract at Lens, has been on the look-out for a new employer and has also been linked with Atletico Madrid.

However, Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger is set to use his French connections to snap up the 32-year-old who will act as the club's third choice keeper behind David Seaman and Stuart Taylor.

With the transfer window closing on Friday, Wenger knows the sands of time are running out for him to sign experienced cover and Warmuz looks the most viable option.
