Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed defender Andre Wisdom is set to join West Brom on a season-long loan.

Wisdom enjoyed a successful spell on loan at Derby County last season and Rodgers is ready to loan him out again so that he can continue his development.

West Brom are in the market for a new right-back after seeing Billy Jones and Steven Reid leave the Hawthorns this summer, and they have moved to agree a deal for England Under 21 international Wisdom.

Speaking after Liverpool's 2-1 pre-season win over Preston, Rodgers confirmed Wisdom was set to link up with the Baggies.

"He now has the opportunity to go to another very good coach in Alan Irvine, who I know from my youth days. He is an excellent coach and West Brom are an excellent club.
