Change of officials for Blackburn-Liverpool game after blunders

Assistant referee Dave Bryan has been stood down from Tuesday night's Premier League game between Blackburn and Liverpool following his offside blunders in Chelsea's victory over Wigan. The assistant failed to flag despite both Blues goals being offside in their 2-1 win, costing the Latics a result that would have lifted them out of the bottom three for the first time in almost four months. According to reports, the Professional Game Match Officials Board have decided to withdraw Bryan for the game at Ewood Park in the wake of his performance at Stamford Bridge. Wigan boss Roberto Martinez was furious with Bryan's performance, branding it "disgusting" and "horrific" and claiming his side had been "robbed". The Spaniard revealed referees had twice said sorry to him for costly decisions this season and he was now expecting a third after Saturday's game. "I would swap the three apologies for one point," Martinez said. "I've had two apologies from referees already this season after decisions have been made. Sometimes, it's when you see them again, when you speak with them. "We have a good relationship with most of them." The FA may elect to write to Martinez to ask him to explain his comments before deciding whether to charge the 38-year-old for his outspoken attack.
