Liverpool boss yet to be contacted by Lille about permanent deal

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish says he has not heard anything from Lille about the possibility of turning Joe Cole's loan deal into a permanent arrangement. Cole joined Lille on a season-long loan over the summer after falling down the pecking order at Anfield under Dalglish, and has made a bright start to life in France. He has made it clear he would be keen to stay beyond the end of the campaign and Lille indicated for the first time earlier this week that they might be looking to hold on to the midfielder. Lille president Michel Seydoux said it was not certain he would leave and they could make the 30-year-old an 'interesting offer' to keep him full-time.

Playing well

Dalglish is unaware of any negotiations between the two clubs, although he was happy to see Cole perform well in Tuesday's 2-0 UEFA Champions League win over CSKA Moscow. Asked about the Lille president's comments, Dalglish said: "He has never spoken to me. I don't know anything about it. "I know they won 2-0 and the lad hit the post and is playing well - but he's been playing well most of the time. "It is great for Joe he is doing so well but beyond that I don't know of anything that has happened."
