Fiorentina claim no interest in Reds full-back

Fiorentina have dismissed claims they have made a bid for Liverpool full-back Emiliano Insua. The Italians have been linked with a move for Argentine defender, who moved to Anfield in 2006. Reports suggested that Fiorentina had lodged a bid of £3.5million for Insua, but this has now been dismissed. "Interest for Insua? I don't even know him," said Viola CEO Sandro Menucci. "It is the first day of the market and a bit too soon for this." Menucci was also asked about the futures of Alberto Gilardino, Juan Manuel Vargas and Sebastian Frey. "The players who are unsellable are those indicating their wish to stay and show attachment to the jersey," he said. "Gilardino has shown it and he remains in Florence. "Vargas and Frey? They're on holiday, there is nothing to clarify with them. The team is competitive, we are almost okay, (sports director, Pantaleo) Corvino will do what must be done."
