Door ajar for Anderson move

Hull City chairman Adam Pearson has hinted that Paul Anderson could go to Liverpool.

Hull City chairman Adam Pearson has left the door open for young talent Paul Anderson to make a dream move to Liverpool.

Hull initially rejected The Reds' advances during October, but it appears that Rafa Benitez is not prepared to give up in his quest to sign one of the most promising wingers in English football.

Pearson admits that he is desperate to tie Anderson to a new deal, but he is now preparing himself for the 17-year-old's departure - in a potential swap deal involving England Under-21 midfielder John Welsh.

The Tigers chairman revealed: "An offer arrived on Friday. We are not happy with that because we don't want to sell the boy.

"But if the boy wants to go and the offer is substantial enough we will do it because John Welsh is an extremely good player."

Welsh is currently on loan at Hull, and he has become somewhat of a lynchpin in their midfield during his short time at the club.
