Traore ignores Toffees talk

Liverpool defender Djimi Traore is ignoring talk linking him with a move to Everton.

Liverpool defender Djimi Traore is ignoring transfer talk linking him with a move to Everton.

Reports have linked Everton with a new move for Traore in the summer after they tried to sign him last year.

The Toffees were close to finalising a deal for the giant defender only for Liverpool to pull the plug at the last minute.

Traore has went to enjoy a fine season with Liverpool, an own goal in the FA Cup defeat to Burnley aside, establishing himself as a regular in Rafa Benitez's plans.

Everton boss David Moyes is a big fan of Traore and believes he would be a valuable addition to his squad as he can play at full back and central defence.

With Goodison full back Alessandro Pistone being linked with a move to Lecce, an exit for the Italian would further increase the likelihood of Moyes bidding for Traore again.

The player's agent Willie McKay knows of Moyes' interest in Traore, but insists the player is only concentrating on the forthcoming UEFA Champions League final with Milan.

‚Ç£I know David Moyes is a big fan of Djimi,‚Ç¥ McKay told skysports.com.

‚Ç£He was keen to sign him last summer and he nearly joined Everton, but Liverpool decided to keep him.

‚Ç£Obviously the last thing on Djimi's mind at the minute is a transfer as he is focusing on playing in the Champions League final next week.‚Ç¥
