Brazilian relishing Champions League chance

Oscar is keen to get his Chelsea career up and running as the Blues prepare to defend their title as champions of Europe. The Blues take on Juventus at home on Wednesday and their Brazilian midfielder would love to play his part in a tournament he has never experienced in person. The Brazilian, signed from Internacional in the summer, has not yet been named in the starting line-up by Roberto Di Matteo but has three substitute appearances under his belt so far this season. "It will be a dream come to hear that famous anthem when I am out on the pitch, rather than on television," said the 21-year-old in the Daily Star Sunday. "I have always wanted to play in the Champions League and who wouldn't want to play for the European champions? "I am hoping it will not take me long to adapt. There is a multi-national team here with other Brazilians and Latin players, so they will help me through their past experience."

Outstanding

Oscar's £25million move during the summer brought into the same squad as Frank Lampard, 13 years older than the Brazilian and one of his favourite players. "I loved to watch him when I was growing up. I always thought he was an outstanding player," Oscar added. "I know I can't wait to play alongside Frank Lampard but my boyhood idol would have to be Kaka. He plays in the same position as me and he is an exceptional player."
