Reports suggest full-back is set to join Anzhi Makhachkala

Chelsea defender Yuri Zhirkov has travelled to Russia amid reports he is set to sign for Anzhi Makhachkala.

Speculation in Moscow suggests the full-back is on the brink of a staggering €17million (£15m) move after agreeing terms.

Zhirkov has not commented on the suggestions that he is about to sign a four-year contract, but the 27-year-old has confirmed that he is in Russia.

The Russia international told Bobsoccer.ru: "I have arrived for two days to spend my weekend here."

Anzhi defender Rasim Tagirbekov would welcome the move and claims that Zhirkov has already talked with the club's players and manager.
