Leyton Orient have signed midfielder Jimmy Smith from Chelsea on loan for the remainder of the season.
Os boss Kevin Nugent has beaten the transfer deadline to bring in the 22-year-old and he will link up with the squad ahead of Saturday's trip to Tranmere.
Smith is not in the first-team picture at Stamford Bridge but has experience of Championship football following loan spells with QPR, Norwich and Sheffield Wednesday.
Nugent believes Smith will be an excellent addition to his squad as he looks to guide the club away from the League One drop zone.
He told the club's official website: "Jimmy is joining from Chelsea and he will be a good addition to the squad.
"He has great ability and can play anywhere across the midfield, so his versatility will also prove to be an asset."
