Abramovich advisor revealed

Piet de Visser has confirmed he is one of Roman Abramovich's football advisors.

PSV Eindhoven scout Piet de Visser has confirmed he is one of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich's football advisors.

The 70-year-old former coach has been credited with discovering a huge array of talent during his career including Marc Overmars, Jaap Stam, Ronaldo and Romario.

Chelsea's already close relationship with PSV is possibly explained by de Visser's role.

He is understood to have played a significant part in the transfer of Brazilian defender Alex - who is widely known to be a Blues asset and is basically on loan at The Philips Stadion until they decide whether to take him to Stamford Bridge or not.

De Visser is also understood to have been the man to recommend Arjen Robben, who came from PSV, and Petr Cech to The Blues owner last summer.

"My boss is a real football man," said de Visser of Abramovich.

De Visser is able to work for both clubs as he is officially a freelancer and so he can continue his duties for both teams.

Sources in Holland are suggesting that de Visser is a huge fan of Brazilian starlet Robinho and he is reportedly hoping that Chelsea and PSV will strike a deal for the Santos striker - in similar fashion to the Alex venture.
