Blues stars back Mutu

Mateja Kezman has given his backing to Chelsea team-mate Adrian Mutu.

Mateja Kezman has given his backing to Chelsea team-mate Adrian Mutu, and insists the Romanian still has a part to play at Stamford Bridge.

Kezman is adamant that Mutu has the quality to aid Chelsea's push for trophies, and has urged The Blues' top-brass not to sack him.

The Serb, who is going through a difficult time himself on the pitch, feels Mutu needs support not alienation and believes he should be given a second chance.

"Adrian's a good guy and I hope he comes back to the club," Kezman told the London Evening Standard.

"I've not spoken to him for a few days but will try to give him my support in this difficult moment in his life.

"It's difficult to know what the club will decide, but it must be even harder for him.

"If you look at Mutu there's no doubting his quality and we need a player like him.

"He's just made a mistake, has said he's sorry and we'll see what happens."

Petr Cech also offered support to Mutu, hinting the Romanian has the backing of Chelsea's dressing room.

"It's going to be difficult for Adrian," the Czech custodian added.

"It's not easy as everyone can turn on you when something like this happens.

"I think this is the most important time in his life and me and the other guys hope he fights and comes through it."
