Geremi loan interest

By Nadia Carminati
Siena are hoping their good relationship with Chelsea coach Claudio Ranieri will help them lure Geremi to Serie A in January.

The top-flight newcomers have been one of the revelations of the season so far and the club are sensibly determined to strengthen their squad with a New Year recruitment drive.

Sports director Nelso Ricci has compiled a list of possible targets for the Tuscan outfit with Geremi believed to be towards the head of the agenda.

The Cameroon international started Chelsea's win over Manchester United on Sunday but, like so many of his team-mates, has found it difficult to hold down a regular place in Ranieri's starting eleven.

Whether the West Londoners would entertain the prospect of allowing the former Real Madrid man to move out on loan is another matter, even if Siena do enjoy an excellent relationship with Ranieri.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, no official approach has yet been made, but a request is set to be tabled in the near future.

Two Lokomotiv Moscow players are also on the wanted list, following their UEFA Champions League exploits, with Dmitri Loskov and Vladimir Maminov catching Ricci's eye.
