Man Utd could be a likely destination for Mats Hummels, says Jurgen Klopp

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp says defender Mats Hummels is "thinking" about a move to Manchester United.

The German World Cup winner has been strongly linked with a big-money summer move and Old Trafford currently seems his most likely destination.

Klopp is reported to have admitted the 26-year-old is considering a move away from the Westfalenstadion at the end of the season following a disappointing campaign.

The north Rhine club have struggled after making a woeful start to their Bundesliga campaign, while their Champions League ambitions were ended by Juventus in the last 16.

And although Klopp is keen to keep his defensive stalwart at the club next season, he admits Hummels will want out with two years left on his current deal.

Klopp told broadcaster DW Sport: "He's good enough for Manchester United. He's told me he's thinking things over.

"We're always looking around the market ourselves.

"That we want to keep Mats is beyond question. How that works out I don’t know.

"There’s always a list of players who would be interesting in the event that you need them."
