Fergie taking Ajax seriously

Manchester United will send a strong squad to Ajax in the Europa League on Thursday evening as Nani and Phil Jones both return from injury. Chris Smalling and Ashley Young are also included in the 20-man squad after missing recent matches but Ryan Giggs, Dimitar Berbatov and Patrice Evra all stay at home. Anders Lindegaard, Nemanja Vidic, Darren Fletcher, Anderson and Michael Owen also remain on the sidelines. But Tom Cleverley is set to continue his comeback from injury after being named among the substitutes against Liverpool on Saturday. The selection suggests Sir Alex Ferguson intends to take the Europa League seriously despite the club's disappointment at being eliminated from the Champions League in the group stage. Contrary to earlier speculation, Ezekiel Fryers and Paul Pogba are the only reserve-team youngsters included in the squad. Manchester United squad: De Gea, Amos; Fabio, Rafael, Evans, Jones, Smalling, Fryers, Ferdinand; Valencia, Nani, Carrick, Young, Park, Scholes, Cleverley, Pogba; Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck.
