Sir Alex Ferguson sees no reason why Manchester United should seek peace talks with Liverpool in the wake of the Luis Suarez-Patrice Evra racism row. The North West rivals have never seen eye-to-eye, but relations have soured considerably over recent months. A Premier League meeting between the two sides in October provided the spark, with Suarez and Evra involved in a controversial on-field exchange. Accusations of racism were levelled against Suarez and the issue has dragged on into the New Year. Liverpool have refused to waver in their support of their striker and have questioned the findings of an independent disciplinary commission - with Suarez handed an eight-match ban. The Reds have reluctantly accepted that punishment, but no apology has been offered to United or Evra. The Old Trafford outfit have kept quiet throughout the long-running row, with it their belief that such matters should be discussed away from the media spotlight. Ferguson insists that remains the case, and he has queried the need for the two clubs to sit down and iron out their differences ahead of a potentially explosive Premier League fixture on 11th February. "It is nice of them to do it through the press," said the Scot. "You would have thought they would come to Manchester United first. "I do not see why there is any need for it. But I have nothing to say about it."
