Rossi goes back to Parma

Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi has rejoined former club Parma on loan.

Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi has rejoined former club Parma on loan.

Rossi has just returned to Old Trafford after spending the first half of the season on loan at Newcastle United.

He made just 11 appearances for The Magpies and his lack of playing time infuriated Sir Alex Ferguson, who then intimated the forward would not be leaving again.

However, Parma have arranged a deal to sign the teenage forward on loan for the rest of the season.

The Red Devils signed Rossi from Parma in 2004 and the Serie A strugglers confirmed the highly-rated hot shot is returning to the Ennio Tardini.

"He will arrive on loan from Manchester," Parma lawyer Giuseppe Cappelli told the Italian media.

"We were interested in Nicola Ventola, but the market goes in this way.

"Thanks to a blitz in Manchester from our sporting director, we have taken him back on loan.

"If everything will be okay, on Thursday he will arrive in Parma and, if the transfer is finished soon, he could be at the coach's disposal against Torino (on Sunday)."
