Lyn win Mikel case

An Oslo court has ruled in Lyn's favour regarding the John Obi Mikel saga.

An Oslo court has ruled in Lyn's favour regarding the long-running saga involving John Obi Mikel.

The Nigerian starlet is involved in a bitter dispute concerning his future after seemingly signing a contract with Manchester United last year.

But the youngster claims he was forced into signing the deal and that he would rather join Premiership champions Chelsea.

Mikel sued his current club Lyn in November and alleged that his signatures on his contract with the Norwegian side had been falsified.

But the Oslo court has accepted Lyn's argument, although the club are not getting carried away by the verdict.

"It's a good verdict," Lyn director Morgen Andersen told VG. "We feel that it is a correct ruling.

"It might still end up as a court case and, therefore, we will await the evaluating of the situation."

Mikel's lawyer is tipped to appeal against the decision, while Fifa are also due to rule on the case, which has been dragging on since last spring.
