Gradi eyeing Pole move

Crewe Alexandra boss Dario Gradi may make a move for Polish defender Marcin Kus.

Crewe Alexandra manager Dario Gradi says he could make a move for Polish defender Marcin Kus in the January transfer window.

The Gresty Road boss was impressed with the Lech Poznan right back after taking both Kus and his fellow countryman in Polonia Warsaw centre back Antoni Lukasiewicz on trial earlier this month.

Gradi admits to being impressed by the abilities of Poland 'B' international Kus, but stressed that if either player arrived in the New Year, they would need time to adjust to Championship football.

"We might do something and the right back (Kus) is the one who has impressed us most," Gradi told The Sentinel.

"We are looking into what it would entail financially.

"We have to work on our players and the boys from Poland would require work on them because they're not going to come in and know the things our players know."

Gradi admitted he will also check on the availability of Manchester United starlet Giuseppe Rossi, despite the unlikelihood that Sir Alex Ferguson will allow the American-born Italian youth international to leave Old Trafford on loan.

"I wouldn't have thought we'd get Rossi now, but we will make the phone call," he added.
