Bellion injury agony

Manchester United forward David Bellion has suffered an injury blow.

Manchester United forward David Bellion has suffered an injury blow as the season draws to a close.

The £3 million signing from Sunderland has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford but has knuckled down and scored regularly for the reserves since reportedly reacting angrily to being substituted in the embarrassing 0-0 FA Cup draw with Exeter City in January.

Only seven minutes into the inaugral Premier League Reserve play-off, the Frenchman was hurt by a heavy challenge by Charlton's Barry Fuller.

After being taken to hospital, it has been revealed that Bellion has a suspected fractured ankle.

United's second string emerged victorious, in any case, with precocious talent Giuseppe Rossi scoring a marvellous hat-trick in a 4-2 win at The Valley.

Skipper David Jones was United's other goalscorer with Lloyd Sam and James Walker on the scoresheet for Charlton.
