JUAN SEBASTIAN VERON'S agent Fernando Hidalgo has admitted that his client's future is solely in the hands of Manchester United.

The Argentinian is more than happy to remain at Old Trafford, but will consider a move to Chelsea should Sir Alex Ferguson give him the green light.

Hidalgo has conceded Veron would be interested in a move to Stamford Bridge as the side are massive, following the summer arrivals of Wayne Bridge, Damien Duff, Glen Johnson and Geremi.

However, the former Lazio ace's future lies solely in the hands of the hierarchy at the Lancashire outfit, with a reported £15 million bid on the table.

"We are waiting for a decision from Sir Alex Ferguson and Peter Kenyon," said Hidalgo.

"If Manchester United don't want to sell Seba, then that's okay because he is very happy at the club.

"Equally, if they do want to sell him, then that is fine because Chelsea are a big club.

"It is United's decision and we will accept anything they say, but we would not have been talking to Chelsea without United's permission."

Meanwhile, sources in Italy are suggesting that United could turn their attentions to Edgar Davids.

The Dutch international has one-year left on his current deal in Turin and was a target for Chelsea.

The Italian champions ruled out a move to Stamford Bridge earlier this summer, but they are seemingly worried about the prospect of losing him for nothing next summer and are thought to have sounded out United about a possible ‚é¼10 milllion deal.

Whether United pursue their interest in Davids's is likely to depend on Veron's future and whether he remains with the Premiership champions.
