The highly-rated centre back has attracted attention from Real Madrid and United, but is in no rush to leave the Barcelona-based club.
"I only found out about United's interest in the press," he revealed.
"It is flattering that a great team pays attention to me.
"I am staying here and, if there is something, it will be seen in June. It is necessary to go step-by-step and I am happy here."
The £5.6 million-rated 21-year-old is under contract until 2004, so everything is really in the hands of Espanyol.
"If the club wants to something at the end of the season, I will do it, but I am well here," he added. "On a personal level, I do not have any complaints and, if there are offers or possible interest, I am enchanted."
Espanyol have had financial problems but will want to hang onto Lopo for the time being.
