McILROY NAMES SQUAD FOR QUALIFIERS

NORTHERN IRELAND boss Sammy McIlroy has named a 21-man strong squad for the World Cup qualifying double-header against Denmark and Iceland next month.

Uncapped Sunderland defender George McCartney has been called up to the senior squad again having been drafted in from the Under-21s at the last minute for the game with Bulgaria last June.

Ipswich Town midfielder Jim Magilton also makes a welcome return to the fold having recovered from injury.

The Irish travel to Copenhagen to take on Denmark on September 1 and entertain Iceland at Windsor Park four days later.
