Lassana Diarra hoping West Ham rekindle transfer interest in the summer

West Ham will consider a move for midfielder Lassana Diarra in the summer, but only if he becomes a free agent, Sky sources understand.

Diarra trained with the Hammers earlier this month but a contract dispute with his club Lokomotiv Moscow ended any hopes of them signing him.

The former France international claims he was fired by the club but Lokomotiv Moscow will not let him register for someone else until they reach a resolution.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed his desire to bring Diarra to Upton Park but will only do so if he is freed by his current employers.

Diarra recently said of the dispute: “As long as the conflict is not sorted, FIFA forbid me to play so it’s so frustrating.

“What happened was that I got fired from a club and now I cannot play football. It’s a crazy thing because I'm free.
