Wolves have confirmed the appointment of Stale Solbakken as their new manager.
Reports emerged on Thursday that Solbakken was the front-runner for the manager's job at Molineux after he travelled to England for talks.
The length of Solbakken's contract has not been confirmed but the 44-year-old will officially take control at Wolves on 1st July, replacing interim boss Terry Connor at the helm.
Wolves have been without a permanent manager since the departure of Mick McCarthy in February, with Connor failing to save the club from relegation after not winning a game since taking charge.
Exciting
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey confirmed the appointment in a brief statement on the club's official website: "Following talks with Stale Solbakken I am happy to confirm that he has agreed to become our new manager.
"He will be formally introduced to the media on Monday."
Solbakken is excited at the opportunity of managing Wolves and the challenge of guiding the club back into the Premier League next season.
He added: "I am delighted to be taking up the important challenge to manage Wolves.
"It's an exciting opportunity to manage a great club and I can't wait to get started."
Pedigree
Solbakken has an impressive pedigree although his copybook was blotted last month when sacked by Cologne, who were then third from bottom of the Bundesliga.
But before that Solbakken had led FC Copenhagen to five Danish titles.
The former Norway international's playing career came to an end after he suffered a cardiac arrest on the training ground at FCK, who were then managed by new England boss Roy Hodgson.
