Sao Paulo claim Arsenal midfielder Denilson wants to prolong his stay in Brazil beyond the expiry of his loan deal. The midfielder is currently in the middle of a year-long spell with O Mais Querido is his homeland having fallen out of favour with Arsene Wenger. Denilson joined the Gunners from Sao Paulo for a fee of £3.4million in the summer of 2006 but bemoaned the lack of trophies won during his time at the Emirates Stadium. And now Sao Paulo vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus, who has been impressed with the 24-year-old, has signalled his intentions to keep him at the club. De Jesus said: "Our conversation was that we have every interest in continuing as we are. We want to renew at the end of the contract and he has said he wants to too. "He (Denilson) will speak with his representatives, who will contact the English club. There is no rush because he is here until the middle of the year."
