Defender set to feature for Gunners' reserve side on Tuesday

Carl Jenkinson will make his return to action on Tuesday in a run-out for Arsenal's reserves against Norwich. The full-back is set to take to the field for the first time in 2012, with a back injury having kept him out for several months. His last Premier League appearance came against West Brom on 5th November, with his knock adding to Arsenal's defensive crisis at that time. Jenkinson has been left as frustrated as anybody by his lengthy spell on the sidelines, but will step up his efforts to earn a first-team recall against the Canaries in midweek. The 20-year-old, who joined Arsenal from Charlton last summer, will be joined in the Gunners' second string by a number of other familiar faces. Marouane Chamakh is set to take in his first fixture since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, while Yossi Benayoun and Chu-Young Park are also expected to feature. Andrey Arshavin is another senior star to have been named in the Arsenal squad, with the Russia international struggling for form and in need of game time.
