QPR manager Neil Warnock fears first-choice goalkeeper Paddy Kenny is facing two months on the sidelines with a strained muscle on his side.
The 33-year-old was a notable absentee from QPR's starting XI on Saturday for their Premier League clash against Norwich City.
Kenny had played every minute of QPR's Premier League campaign upon their return, leaving Radek Cerny to fill the void against the Canaries.
"It's not looking so good at the moment," Warnock replied when quizzed on Kenny's injury update.
Injuries to Kenny and back-up Brian Murphy meant QPR were forced to name young Latvian Elvijs Putnins on their bench as they were denied the chance to make an emergency loan signing.
Disappointed
The Rs tried for two days to persuade the Premier League to allow them to bolster their goalkeeping options and he was left disappointed by their stance.
"We're very disappointed with the Premier League if I'm honest. For not allowing us to bring a goalkeeper in," said Warnock.
"We'd got two injured keepers last weekend. Then we have Radek Cerny who's only played two reserve team games this year, because he's got a long-standing problem.
"We asked the Premier League for two days. They said no. We've got to play a lad who we had at Boreham Wood for a year who's been given a free transfer. It baffles me.
"Or we've got to play a 17-year-old who has never played a reserve game, let alone first-team game. I don't know how the hell they can come up with this.
"This isn't like Manchester City and Arsenal last year. This is little QPR and the Premier League, Mike Foster and his lads, have made the wrong decision.
"I'm not surprised with it being QPR. If it had been one of the big clubs they'd have got a keeper."
