Brown relishing United return

Sunderland's Wes Brown is looking forward to returning to play at Old Trafford but insists he is focused on a Black Cats win.

Defender set to face former club for first time

Sunderland defender Wes Brown admits he is looking forward to playing at Old Trafford again but insists he will be focused on helping the Black Cats to victory. The 32-year-old moved to the Stadium Of Light over the summer after 15 successful years at the Red Devils. During that time Brown won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups and two Champions League medals before leaving in July in search of regular first-team football. The defender admits he is looking forward to returning to the club he joined as a schoolboy but admits that once the referee's whistle blows, he is eyeing nothing more than a win for his present employers. "It'll be good; I'm really looking forward to going back to Old Trafford," the Manchester-born player told Sunderland's official website.

Special

"Obviously I had only ever previously been at Manchester United so it will be special to go back. I will enjoy the day but I'm going back there to try and win as a Sunderland player so hopefully we can do that. "It will be nice to catch up with a few people I've not seen for a while before and after the game but during those 90 minutes I'll be fully focused on hopefully getting a good result for Sunderland. "Going into the game we know we will all have to be performing at our maximum to get something from the game."
