Skysports.com understands Celtic are lining up a beat-the-deadline move for West Brom defender Abdoulaye Meite.
Celtic boss Neil Lennon has confirmed his interest in bolstering his defensive options before the transfer window slams shut on Monday at 11pm.
Lennon is short of options in central defence after losing Thomas Rogne, Glenn Loovens and Daniel Majstorovic to injury, while both Darren O'Dea and Jos Hooiveld are out on loan.
The SPL leaders are chasing Stoke stopper Abdoulaye Faye, but they are now thought to be keen on taking Meite on loan.
Meite is well down the pecking order at The Hawthorns and it is believed the club would be willing to loan him as he is not in Roberto Di Matteo's plans.
