Midfielder travelling to England for transfer talks

Eric Djemba-Djemba has travelled to England to reportedly hold talks over a free transfer move to West Bromwich Albion. The Cameroon midfielder currently plays for Odense, but has been given permission to miss the Danish club's game against Randers on Monday night. Though Odense refused to confirm the exact reason for the 29-year-old sitting out the Randers encounter, reports in Denmark claim he has been allowed to discuss a return to the Premier League. Odense coach Lars Olsen said: "Eric will not be involved (against Randers) because we have allowed him to travel abroad. "It is for personal reasons which we cannot say more about." Djemba-Djemba previously endured a frustrating time in English football after joining Manchester United in 2003 from French club Nantes. He made 39 appearances for United before joining Aston Villa in 2005, but again struggled to make an impression in the Premier League. After a loan spell with Burnley, and a stint in Qatar, Djemba-Djemba joined Odense two years ago, but could now seal a move to top-flight new boys West Brom.
