Ivorian has already had medical at Ewood Park

Blackburn Rovers have confirmed they are trying to finalise the signing of Aruna Dindane. The Ivory Coast star has impressed whilst on a season-long loan at Portsmouth this season from French side Lens. With Pompey relegated, that ruled out of the chance of any possible return to Fratton Park and Rovers have now moved quickly to agree terms with Lens as they look to finalise a deal. Allardyce, who almost landed Dindane in January, admits the player has already been to Ewood Park for talks. "He has had a medical here and we are in negotiations but it is a delicate process," said Allardyce. "We will see how things develop over the next few weeks. I don't know how far apart we are, all I know is talks are ongoing." Allardyce confirmed that Franco di Santo would not be returning to the club after scoring just once during a season-long loan from Chelsea. "With Franco it was all about the goal ratio not matching his performances. He only got one in the entire run that he had," he said. Allardyce also hinted he may be ready to listen to offers for full-back Pascal Chimbonda, saying: "Chim has ended up being the one left out. "A similar thing happened with Lars at the start of the season and now Michel Salgado is looking comfortable at right-back."

Allardyce also revealed his growing frustration with the lack of progress made over a new contract for Morten Gamst Pedersen - who is free to leave at the end of the season. "I'm sick of it. Speak to the chairman. It's his baby, not mine. He deals with the finances," he blasted. "To be honest, they'll sort it out between them, and if he makes a decision then I'll find out. "Hopefully it will be the right decision, but we're going to need one, and in the next few days because it can't keep lingering on and on and on."
