Hearts ace suffers hamstring blow

Laryea Kingston has informed Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo that he will be out of action for up to seven weeks through injury. The Ghana international midfielder damaged a hamstring against Dundee United last weekend and has now confirmed the bad news to Laszlo. It remains unclear how the injury affects Kingston's participation at the Africa Cup of Nations with players due to report over the weekend of December 26/27. Laszlo is not digging his heels in over Kingston's availability for next month's tournament, stating he will leave the final decision with Ghana's football federation.

Seven weeks out

"Larry told me yesterday that he will be injured for the next six or seven weeks," he told the Edinburgh Evening News. "I don't know if he will go away with Ghana, this is a decision for Ghana's football federation." It had been suggested Callum Elliot could make his return from a knee injury against Celtic this weekend, but Laszlo doubts his availability. "I don't think he can play on Sunday," he continued. "He has gone to see the specialist and we don't have any diagnosis yet."
