Dimitar Berbatov marked becoming his country's leading goalscorer by declaring an ambition to win the UEFA Champions League this season.
The talented Bulgarian was on target twice in midweek against Malta to take his total to 48 internationals goals in 74 appearances.
Having broken Hristo Bonev's long-standing record Berbatov trained his sights on domestic affairs at Manchester United.
And it is Europe's top prize that he has put at the top of his wish-list: "I'm happy with the record because it was one of my goals.
"I've achieved a lot and now (winning) the Champions League remains my only
unrealised dream.
"I took part in two finals and failed to win it so now I hope to make it third time lucky."
Berbatov was part of the Bayer Leverkusen team that lost 2-1 to Real Madrid in the 2002 final and also part of the United side beaten 2-0 by Barcelona in May.
Bonev, 62, was quick to pay tribute to the man who has usurped him in the scoring charts: "I knew long ago Berbatov would break my record but I'm proud a player with such class did it.
"He is a top player ... and I think it's going to be many years before there's another striker like him in the national team."
