Wenger told midfielder he was not guaranteed regular action

Amaury Bischoff has revealed he left Arsenal because manager Arsene Wenger could not guarantee him first-team football. The Gunners confirmed on Tuesday that the midfielder's contract at the club had expired. Bischoff signed at Emirates Stadium last summer from Werder Bremen, with Wenger conceding the deal was a "gamble". The 22-year-old failed to start a game for Arsenal and is now seeking a new side for next season. "(Wenger) could not guarantee me playing time next season. So we decided together that it was best that I did not extend (the contract)," Bischoff told L'Equipe.
