Heurelho Gomes is on the verge of helping Tottenham to break a club record and he hopes to keep on improving next season.
Tottenham have conceded just nine goals at White Hart Lane this term and have just one more home game remaining, against Manchester City on 16th May.
The fewest number of goals that Spurs have let in at home in one season is 11 and Gomes is delighted to have played his part.
The goalkeeper is confident that Spurs can qualify for the Europa League next season following a 1-0 victory over West Brom on Saturday, while he would also like to fulfil his international ambitions.
Regarding the possible record, Gomes told the
Daily Mail: "This is amazing.
"First, I think about my team, Tottenham. And then playing for Brazil could be a consequence if I do well."
"We have a chance to qualify for Europe, so this win was good for us.
"When I came to Spurs I had played for four years for PSV in the Champions League and I want to play next season in Europe.
"We will have a lot more games - difficult games - but I look forward to it."
Parks praise
Gomes was criticised following a series of mistakes in the early part of the season and he credits goalkeeping coach Tony Parks for his upturn in form.
He said: "He is a great man. He has helped me so much and picked me up when it has been difficult."
Manager Harry Redknapp has also applauded Gomes' temperament after silencing the doubters with some excellent performances.
"He's shown a lot of character to get through that because he was getting stick wherever he went. Crowds were on his case," said Redknapp.
