Frenchman would be happy to remain with Sunderland

Djibril Cisse has told Sunderland he will remain with the club if they meet Marseille's demands at the end of the season. Cisse moved to the Stadium of Light on loan last summer and he has enjoyed a fine campaign, netting nine goals in the Premier League. Sunderland will have first refusal on Cisse when his loan spell expires in May and Ricky Sbragia has made it clear he would like to keep the Frenchman. Sbragia has previously admitted he does not know what Cisse would like to do but the 27-year-old has now stated that he would be open to extending his stay in the North East. There is a buy-out clause in Cisse's Marseille contract and the Black Cats would have to pay around £10million to secure his services on a permanent basis. "If Sunderland pay my buy-out clause, I will stay here," Cisse told TF1.
