Club give star and authorities 'full support' as police investigate

Robinho has received the 'full support' of Man City after being questioned following allegations of a serious sexual assault in Leeds. West Yorkshire Police are investigating after a student claimed she had been attacked at The Space nightclub in the city in the early hours of 14th January. The British record signing was questioned on Tuesday and issued a statement on his website denying any "wrongdoing or criminality". He trained as normal on Wednesday, and City have issued a statement on the club's official website saying: "The club have been liaising with, and assisting, both the player in question and the authorities in relation to the West Yorkshire Police investigation. "Both parties have been given the full support of the football club. No charges of any nature have been brought against the player and no further statement will be made whilst the investigation is continuing." Police said detectives arrested a man on Tuesday and he was later released on bail.
