Turkish schemer set for playing time

Blackburn boss Paul Ince insists veteran midfielder Tugay still remains a key part of his Ewood Park plans. The 38-year-old Turkish schemer was at the hub of much of Blackburn's best work on Wednesday evening as they progressed to the fourth round of the Carling Cup at the expense of Everton. At the game's conclusion Toffees boss David Moyes accepted it was Tugay that was the difference between the two sides and such an assessment has now been echoed by Ince.

While accepting he will have to be careful in picking and choosing Tugay's matches this season, it would appear the former Rangers man will be seeing plenty of playing time. "Tugay may be the grandad of our side but he is still a fantastic player," said Ince. "You never lose that passing ability and his brings composure to the team. The older you get you want to play every day and Tugay is no different. "He still has the enthusiasm of 10 years ago but we have to be careful with him. It is horses for courses."
