Blades boss looking to strengthen

Sheffield United boss Bryan Robson is weighing up a January bid for Blackpool winger Wes Hoolahan. The Irishman has impressed in the Championship this season, having originally joined Blackpool in 2006 from Livingston. He featured against the Blades in the Boxing Day draw at Bramall Lane, and Robson confirmed an interest in the 25-year-old. "We've had him watched, and I think he is coming to the end of his contract, so there might be a possibility there," Robson told Sky Sports News. "But I haven't been in touch with Blackpool."

New faces

Robson is aiming to add to his squad in the New Year as he looks to put the club's promotion push back on track. He continued: "Hopefully we can change a few things around, bring a few new faces in. "If we can get some of the players I'm after that should give us a nice lift going into the second half of the season." A deal for Gary Speed has already been lined up and Robson is looking forward to the Bolton midfielder's arrival. "I've got Gary Speed definitely coming in next week and he will be available to be in the squad against Wolves," said Robson. "That's good, because he has got great experience, but the main thing is he is a very good player."
