Numbers Game

After success last week, the Numbers Game is back with a 2/1 Christmas Cracker for Boxing Day.

The Numbers Game made real puddings of the bookies last week as Yorkshire duo Doncaster and Rotherham obliged at 7/4 and 5/6 respectively

@MattPBriggs advised Donny as the Value Bet at 7/4 (draw no bet) against Leicester and they did the business after fighting back from a goal down to win 2-1. And South Yorkshire neighbours Rotherham saw off AFC Wimbledon 1-0 to give the Banker another winning week. Wycombe hitman Marcello Trotta also scored at a huge 7/2, and while his price has now collapsed we're still keen on the Fulham loanee to find the net again this week. The headline tip also comes from League One with Carlisle (2/1) fancied to win at Preston, while under 2.5 goals is the way to go at The Riverside for Middlesbrough's home clash with Hull. STEAMERS Man City have already been heavily backed on Boxing Day into 2/5 from an opening 1/2. West Brom are holding their own this season and occupy 10th spot but punters seem happy to take City at a short price. BANKER Middlesbrough v Hull under 2.5 goals at 4/6. Eight of Boro's 11 home games have been under 2.5 goals and eight of Hull's 11 away games have been under too. WHO'S HOT Man Utd (1/6) have won their last four Premier League games and host Wigan (14/1). Hull (11/4) have won their last four Championship games and travel to Middlesbrough (evens). Sheff Utd (4/5) have won their last four League One games and host Notts County (100/30) (Tues). Middlesbrough (evens) have won their last three games and host Hull (11/4). Accrington (11/5) have won their last three games in League Two and travel to Morecambe (6/5). WHO'S NOT QPR (13/5) have lost their last three league games and travel to Swansea (21/20). Blackburn (12/1) have lost their last three league games and travel to Liverpool (1/4). Coventry (8/5) have lost their last four league games and host Bristol City (8/5). Hartlepool (3/1) have lost their last four games and travel to Oldham (10/11). Tranmere (10/11) have lost their last four games in League One and host Rochdale (3/1). AFC Wimbledon (2/1) have lost their last three league games and host Oxford (13/10). TRADERS' VIEW Sky Bet are going to see a seemingly endless stream of accumulators on the big four on Boxing Day. Liverpool (1/4), Chelsea (2/7), Man Utd (1/6) and Man City (2/5) will all be trusted by an army of punters to deliver. "However, we are more than happy to oppose this and will be looking for one of these teams to suffer a Christmas hangover and save our day. "With the heavy favourites the talk of the town there are a few matches that could see plenty of movement. "Bolton take on Newcastle and are 7/5 to get the points. Sunderland entertain Everton and are 11/8. Both these matches look to have a chance of moving with Bolton finding some form at Blackburn and Sunderland showing improvement under their new manager so we will be careful to guard against any festive gambles. "Aston Villa have been woeful of late and the markets are reflecting this. Stoke are odds on at 10/11 to beat McLeish's team and anyone who has been watching the form recently will struggle to argue with this price. "However, we would be surprised if Stoke move much shorter here as it is surely a matter of time before Villa halt the slide and show some improvement. A cautious approach to taking on the wounded Villans is advised." BOGEY TEAMS Fulham (10/1) have won just one of the 20 Premier League games v Chelsea (2/7). Manchester United (1/6) have won all 13 matches in all competitions v Wigan (14/1). Sunderland (11/8) have won none of their last 14 games against Everton (15/8) in all competitions. Aston Villa (3/1) have only won one of the last eight league meetings with Stoke (10/11). Arsenal (2/9) are unbeaten in their last 17 matches against Wolves (14/1) and have won the last 12 in a row. Derby (15/8) have won their last five games v Leeds (7/5). Portsmouth (12/5) have won four of the last five games v Millwall (11/10). Coventry (8/5) have only won one of the last 11 games v Bristol City (8/5). Peterborough (11/4) have won just two of the last 10 games v N Forest (20/21). Reading (8/11) have won five of the last six games v Brighton (4/1). Huddersfield (4/11) have only won one of their last eight games v Chesterfield (15/2). Scunthorpe (11/10) unbeaten in last eight games v Bury (9/4). Walsall (100/30) won one of last 10 v Sheff Wed (5/6). Yeovil (100/30) have won just one of six meetings with Charlton (5/6). Rotherham (5/4) have lost just twice in 14 games v Macclesfield (2/1). Swindon (5/4) have lost just once in 15 games v Torquay (21/10). VALUE BET Carlisle to win at Preston at 2/1. (kick-off 1.30pm). The Cumbrians have won five of their 11 games on the road and have already been cut from 11/5 and look primed to upset Preston, who have lost four of their 10 home games. They will also be without striker Neil Mellor. HOT-SHOTS Newcastle's Demba Ba has 13 goals in his last 12 Premier League games and is 5/4 to score at Bolton. Reading's Simon Church has scored four in last four games and is 11/8 to score v Brighton. Doncaster's Billy Sharp has scored eight in his last 10 games and is 6/4 to score at Burnley. Barnet's Izale McLeod has scored eight goals in his last nine games and is evens to score at Dagenham (1pm). Marcello Trotta has scored three goals in three games for Wycombe and is 11/8 to score at home to Exeter. TREATMENT ROOM Torquay will be without the influential pair Rene Howe and Billy Bodin at home to Swindon (5/4). Barnsley will be without on-loan pair Danny Drinkwater and Nile Ranger at home to Blackpool (8/5). FAMOUS LAST WORDS Oldham to beat Hartlepool at home at 10/11. Speaking after Oldham's 1-1 draw v Charlton assistant boss Lee Duxbury said: "We're delighted. Both teams defended very well, our strength is getting it down and playing good football through each third. "When we did do, we created some chances. It's a tough place to come, they're top of the league for a reason, but we defended well against the way they played. " AFC Wimbledon to beat Oxford at home at 2/1 (kick-off 12.15). AFC Wimbledon boss Terry Brown speaking after 1-0 defeat by Rotherham: "I thought we had five good opportunities to score. We paid the price for not taking any of those five chances. "I saw us scoring and going on to win 2-0 but if you don't take those chances... Some of them were gilt-edged chances and I was thinking 'that's a goal', but it just didn't go in."
