Moritz Volz admits he has a big decision to make as he weighs up his options after leaving Fulham.
The German is looking for a new club after five enjoyable years on the banks of the Thames at Fulham.
Volz finds himself in the same position as a number of other footballers this summer, waiting for the right offer to continue his career.
The full-back came to prominence in England at Arsenal after he was snapped up from German side Schalke in the summer of 1999.
Volz spent four seasons at Arsenal, including a loan spell at Wimbledon - now MK Dons - before pitching up at Fulham.
The German international established himself as a regular in the Fulham side and quickly won favour as a firm fans' favourite at Craven Cottage.
Volz spent last season on-loan at Ipswich before he left Fulham earlier this summer following the expiration of his contract.
Calm
At 26 Volz accepts his next move is an important one at this stage of his career, but the defender is in a relaxed mood as he weighs up his future.
"It has been a normal summer for me with the only difference being I am preparing to move," he told
skysports.com.
"The transfer market has been quite quiet so far and I don't think I am in the right price-range for Real Madrid!"
Volz is currently training with Fulham as he looks to maintain his fitness and he is enjoying his time back in West London.
"I massively enjoyed my time at Fulham and it will be sort of sad to say goodbye, but it is another challenge for me to start off somewhere new.
"I can draw on my experiences at Arsenal and Fulham and start a new chapter in my life.
"I am training with Fulham right now and it is going really good as I want to be fit so I can hit the ground running when I move to a new club.
"I had an injury at the end of last season and I want to get my fitness levels up as soon as possible.
"It is good training at Fulham, the facilities are excellent and are convenient as it is close to me also."
Options
Volz has admitted he has been the subject of interest from clubs in England and abroad, but his main priority is to continue in the Premier League.
"There have been enquiries from abroad and teams in the Championship, but I see myself as playing in the Premier League," he added.
"I haven't been in a rush to find a club as I feel my CV speaks for itself.
"I am 26 now and I think it is an age where you will see the best of me.
"I still feel I have plenty to offer and I have an important decision to make.
"The Premier League is my priority and I have other options, but I won't be panicking as this is an important decision at this stage of my career."
The right-back believes his experiences at Arsenal and Fulham will stand him in good stead in finding a new club this summer.
"I had four good years at Arsenal and they set me up for life in the way I work as a professional," noted Volz.
"At a club like Arsenal there is no room for second best and they never let you rest as they want you to improve.
"I had the chance to play with some of the best players in the world and work with one of the best managers ever in Arsene Wenger.
"After Arsenal I went to Fulham and I started in the team and I have played over 150 games in the Premier League so I am confident I can do a job for any club that wants me."
Media role
Volz spent part of his summer in the
Sky Sports studio working as a pundit at the European Under 21 Championship and although he enjoyed the experience, he insists he has no plans to swap his boots for a microphone just yet.
Volz said: "It was a great experience working on television and it was a real learning curve.
"However, I would like to play on a few more years yet before doing TV work as you enjoy it more on the pitch playing rather than looking at other players in the studio."
